Centre for Chinese Agricultural Policy

CCAP is a leading research center in agricultural policy in China. The Center is comprised of a group of motivated and vibrant young economists dedicated to pursuing CCAP's aims of analyzing policies related to food, agriculture, nature resource and environmental issues in China, and helping formulate practical and feasible policies for the development and modernization of rural China. The Center has four core research programs. These are: the Agricultural R&D and Production Policy; Natural Resources and Environmental Policy; the Integrated Rural and Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Policy; and the Policy Analysis and Decision Support System (PADSS). The latter program focuses its research in the following areas: Analysis and projection of production, consumption and trade of agricultural products; agricultural markets and food marketing chain changes; and impact assessments of domestic policy reforms, international trade policy reforms, climate changes and bio-fuel development on production, consumption, trade and prices of food, feed and fiber, and farm income and poverty.
