Prof. Fukunari KIMURA

Has been Professor, Faculty of Economics, Keio University, Tokyo, Japan since 2000. He was born in Tokyo in 1958 and received his Bachelor of laws from the Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo in 1982, his Master of Science and Ph.D. in economics from the Department of Economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990 and 1991. He worked for the International Development Center of Japan as Researcher in 1982-1986..

Prof. Fukunari Kimura, has been Professor, Faculty of Economics, Keio University, Tokyo, Japan since 2000. He was born in Tokyo in 1958 and received his Bachelor of laws from the Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo in 1982, his Master of Science and Ph.D. in economics from the Department of Economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990 and 1991. He worked for the International Development Center of Japan as Researcher in 1982-1986, the Department of Economics, State University of New York at Albany as Assistant Professor in 1991-1994, and the Faculty of Economics, Keio University as Associate Professor in 1994-2000. He has also conducted numerous advisory/consultant jobs for the Government of Japan, industrial associations, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and others. His major is international trade and development economics. In particular, he has recently been active in writing academic/semi-academic books and articles on international production networks and economic integration in East Asia.

In NTM-Impact, Prof. Otsuki, will lead the team and besides the coordination, will lend his considerable expertise, to support methodology development in both WP6 and WP7. Prof. Kimura, will lead on NTM data collection (WP4) and the product case studies (WP6) in Japan.
